Trip Report

Prusik Peak/West Ridge

June 12-13 pre permit Bid. Internationally recognized Leader Fred Luck nailed this date. Started at Stuart lake TH an hour later than planned at 1630 but caught the two from Calgary that headed out in front of us. Minimal snow crossing below Aasgard and made camp on a dry patch just on the other side at 2215. Easy travel to balanced rock where the traffic jam started. 1015 our three teams followed and Anderson noted the first pitch would be better in boots. We were bottle necked at the crux. Further d
elays on the fourth pitch brought a flurry of Graupel which added spice to the final Chimney. 5 single 60m Raps to a snow traverse that is more fun in rock shoes. 1830 to our stashed gear and back to camp after dark. We descended Asgard at midnight, slept a couple of hours until daybreak and at least one of us made the Symphony in Seattle at 1400.
