It was wonderful to actually need snowshoes on a Winter Scramble! This was an excellent alternative destination given the day's avy risk. It was obvious that the previous day's significant snowfall was not consolidated. We traveled around the north end of Olallie lake to avoid the comparatively sparsely treed slope, following the trail to the ridge and staying either in fairly densely brush/treed areas then traveling on the ridge crest. In fact, the snow level is lower than what I've experienced here before - which means that there's a bit more brush-bashing than usual. Negotiating around the one large ridge boulder took some care with ice ax belay. Even at the summit the wind was mild. While there were no views today, everyone was happy to get a good workout in the soft snow.
