Pinnacle Peak & The Castle (winter)

While our planned trip was to Castle "bump", we changed plans at the Narada TH to avoid this, due to a considerable avalanche hazard and an incoming weather front. Instead, we took the marked trail up to Paradise, and then swung up to Mazama Ridge. From there, we ventured south on the ridge top, enjoying lots of fresh powder and interesting cornice formations. Dropped down to Reflection Lakes, and did a clockwise circum-ambulation of the main lake, finding some odd spring/ seep locations. From there, took the standard route back via the road and the trail to Narada. A good day, and a great opportunity to share ideas with other snowshoe leaders!!!
