The forecast called for 1/2" to 3/4" of rain at Paradise the night before the trip. To avoid the increased avalanche danger with the rain, the route was changed to Reflection Lakes and Bench Lake. Since there were 2 leaders on the outing, the group split at the fork to Mazama Ridge on the return. Part of the group went to Narada Falls while the others returned via Mazama Ridge and 4th Crossing. The day's stats for the route via Mazama Ridge were 9.7 miles and approximately 1,600 ft (cumulative).

We were prepared for a cold wet day and were surprised with calm, sunny weather for most of the outing with great views of Rainier and the Tatoosh range. The weather stayed nice until 3:30 pm.

Between the excellent weather and a great group, it was another wonderful day on the mountain.
