Observation Rock/North Face

Climbed Observation Rock via North Face on 17 August 16. Uneventful approach - turn off the Wonderland at a hill on the right of the trail (the words "Pack" on the USGS map mark the spot). Followed a cairn'ed climber's trail along a scree ridge to a finger of snow below the steep slope. Simul climbed up to the steep part, and then did 3 quick pitches up the snow slope, then finished the scramble to the top. Car to car in 9 hrs.

Wore tennis shoes up until the snow, makes the long approach a bit easier.

Ice is no where to being "in". Maybe in a month? Maybe?

Brought 2 tools, 4 pickets, 7 screws. Used all the pickets.
