North Eagle Peak (winter)

Great weather in spite of marginal forecast with cool morning ascent, and sun breaks throughout the day. Amazingly little snow for late April with first significant snow on ridge encountered at ~5300'. As a result the first 60' vertical of the route (starting at ~5100') was steep/mossy wet rock which was rappeled on descent. Remainder of route was a good running belay/simul climb practice using one picket and girth hitched trees for protection. Left parking lot at 8am, summited at 2pm, and back to cars by 7:20pm as rain just started. Photos of this and prior trips here can be seen at:
