Naturalist Trip - Edmonds Marsh

A field trip with two locations, flat walking conditions and lots of bird action.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • We took the ferry to Edmonds from Kingston. It is a fairly flat one-mile walk on sidewalks along a busy road to the meeting location. We carpooled with another person on the trip to the second location. You could walk but it would be slower.

The first location is shaded. We saw Ospreys, Bewick's wren and more. The second location is along a beach and marina. There is not shade, so a hat and sun protection is recommended on a hot day. At this location we saw more Ospreys,  gulls, herons, a hawk and more.

The trip leader was knowledgeable, brought scope equipment to help with sighting birds and helped us learn how to use eBird for a trip. Very educational.
