Mount Stuart/Cascadian Couloir

We hiked in from the Esmerelda TH via Longs Pass starting at about 6:30 pm. It was sunny and warm and just a beautiful day.
It took us about 2.5 hours to make the trek in and find a camp. The next morning at about 6:30 we took the trail near our
camp to the base of the couloir and were on route in short order. The couloir was dirty in places so we decided to stay left
in order to stay on snow all the way up, which worked out great. The snow was softening as we approached the false summit but
that worked in our favor as there is still a lot of snow up there and the traverse from the false summit to the true summit is
pretty steep. We were on the summit by noon, off by noon-thirty.

On the way back we took the couloir proper, making quick time back to our camp where we refilled our water bottles and packed up.
Rather than going via Long's Pass, which was steep with a lot of surounding cornices, we took the finger to the left of the Pass
then hung a left after reaching the main ridge line so we could maximize our glissade. We were back at the cars by 6:30.

Great trip!
