Mount Shuksan/Sulphide Glacier

We arrived at Sedro Woolley Ranger Station when it opened and was told no permits for the Sulphide Glacier. When I asked about alternatives I was told to camp outside the park and conditions are very dry with no water even at high camp. That sounded fishy but off we went with 5 liters of water each for camp. Everything worked out as indeed there are several running streams between 5200 and 6000 feet. We did not see any camps on the glacier or even along the ridge trail. There were about 4 other parties on the pyramid with everyone being our Shannon Ridge neighbors or from Fisher Chimney. I'm not picking on the Rangers, just saying what we observed. The glacier is in great shape with minimal crevasse crossings. It was a beautiful climb.
