May Hikes: 3 to 5.5 miles, 300 to 1,250 feet gain - Cherry Creek Falls

The hike out is an easy out and back when navigating correctly , otherwise additional miles and elevation can easily be added.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

The plan was to meet at 9am sharp with a start time of 9:15.  I arrive 30 min early with 6+ spots available.  At 5 min to 9 there was 1.  At 9:20 we were able to get all cars parked, with one still lost on route.  Would highly recommend carpooling with an early start time on sunny weekend days.
We finally had everyone there and started at 9:45am.  We planned on taking the upper route less traveled w/ less mud, unfortunately we took the left spur one too early. We found the mountain bike trail down to the creek that was a bit steep but doable.  Note:  If you want to take the upper trail out to the falls… it’s the 2nd spur after the bridge.  That spur added 2 miles and 500 feet elevation w / approx 600-700 feel elevation drop.
