Trip was really great. Met for the 8:25am ferry as planned and launched into Quartermaster Harbor from Portage at 9:30am after leaving our cars on the north beach of Portage. Mostly calm and sunny all the way out Quartermaster and about half way up the east coast of Maury. North breeze started up just in time to avoid having to reduce layers. Mt. Rainier and Mt. Baker provided a spectacular backdrop along the east coast. Stopped at the new park at the old northern gravel pit and again for lunch at Pt. Robinson. Brisk north wind (~10kt) and large fetch kicked up 1-2' waves along the north shore of Maury, providing a fun time playing with waves and the shore on the way back to the cars. Arrived at the cars at 3pm and were well in time to catch the 4:05pm ferry back to Pt. Defiance.
