Mailbox Peak

This trip took place on 12/6/2014 and was originally listed as a winter scramble of Koppen Mountain. However, the weather forecast was for a possibility of freezing rain throughout eastern Washington and for showers with up to a half inch of rain in western Washington. So instead, we went up Mailbox by the old trail and returned by the new trail. When we broke out into the open at the top we got a taste of winter with wind, and intermittent ice pellets and snow. We were glad to return to the shelter of the trees.
