Mailbox Peak

11/29/2014 We had planned a nice but strenuous hike to the top of Mailbox, but the early morning snow in the city seemed to put that goal aside. We figured that we would just travel up the new trail until we felt like turning around. As we hiked up the snow, leapfrogging with a few other parties, our goal became the junction with the old trail. After lunch there, we thought we'd just hike uphill a bit to warm up before turning. But as the elevation increased and the snow deepened, and with blue skies finally breaking through, a bit of summit fever took over and we pushed on to the top. Beautiful views of snowy peaks and lowlands.
