Magnuson Park

Intro to the Natural World FT 2, Magnuson Park Birding, 5/28/2015 (leader: Barb Retzlaff) Present: Sally Murdoch, Lynn Morlan, Marisa Connell, Mary Lou Biggs, Clare Mclean. Cancelled ahead: Stephanie Buley. Did not come: Lonnie Martin. We walked the area NW of the community garden, and the garden itself. For the last part we "carpooled" over to the south of the main wetlands. These are good areas for beginning birders, as the birds tend to be concentrated, close and relatively still. We saw and heard about 15 species in the 1-1/2 to 2 hours before the birds got quiet for the night. Lots of good looks in bright sunshine, esp Anna's H, Am Goldfinch, Cedar Waxwings. Great weather, nice folks. Nothing untoward to report.
