Crunchy, hard-packed snow trail. Snowshoes not really needed until reaching the Knob.
Left the Sno-Park at 9:30am and arrived at the Knob in time for lunch at 12noon. The weather forecast predicted windchill in the 20's but we only experienced the north wind while on the Knob. Rampart Ridge, Keechelus Lake, Mt Rainier, Snoqualmie ski slopes and Granite Mountain were all visible. Fluffy snow covered the open areas at the Knob but was crusty under the trees. Arrived back at the Sno-Park at 2pm.
