  • Day Hiking

We hiked in light rain at a slow to moderate pace. Plenty of good views of lakes and streams with small waterfalls. Plenty of space to park at 9am, but the TH lot was (over) full when we got back around 2:30p. Could be worse if it wasn't raining on and off all day. None-the-less, the trail seemed low-traffic past Talapus lake.

Conditions:
There was some snow around 4600', but the trail was still easy to follow.

As mentioned in some online reports the road to the Talapus trailhead (NFS 9030, after split) has some big potholes, but I was able to avoid them without bottoming out in a compact car with some careful driving.
