We had fun snowshoeing through snowy woods to a frozen lake.

We didn't have to break trail until we had gone more than a mile, then the snow was deeper. The snow was compact under the powder, so no postholing.
We had a surprise at the Gold Creek Sno-park. It hadn't been plowed and wasn't all day. Parking was tricky, but it was raining at the parking lot when we got down, so not too much trouble getting the cars out. One required some shoveling and traction.
It snowed most of the day until the last mile down (rain). It was beautiful.
