Intermediate Alpine Climb - North Early Winter Spire/Northwest Corner

Route's in with straight forward rappels. Go get it.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

  • Only party on Northwest Corner. 2 parties on West Face.

    Mosquitos the whole day.

Times:

  • 5:00am started hiking Blue Lake Trail
  • 6:30am reached base of climb
  • 6:45am started climbing
  • 11:00am everyone on summit, 5 rappels
  • 12:45pm back at packs
  • 1:00pm started hiking down
  • 2:00pm back at car

Gear Used:

  • 70m rope (60m would have been fine)
  • Double rack to BD #3, #4, #5, nuts 

The 3 of us spent the night in the Blue Lake Trailhead parking lot which was about 3/4 full. The Mosquitoes were with us for most of the day except for the summit and rappels. Weather was mostly sunny hovering around 60s. Recommend to link P1 & P2. Don't forget your jammies. Great opportunity for some lieback and crack practice.
