Trip Report

Hidden Lake Peak

The trip on 7/26/14 was a great success with good weather, lots of flowers, and wide views. We did the peak with the lookout first. On the way up, we traversed a short section of fairly steep snow, but went lower where it wasn't so steep on the way down. Then we ascended the south ridge of the main peak, where there was some very enjoyable rock scrambling. From the summit, the trail is visible to the west about 900 feet below, and we were able to make a relatively direct descent that way, sometimes on snow, sometimes on rock. Perhaps the main negative comment is that the Sibley Creek road was pretty rough, with some deep potholes.
