Trip Report

Hex Mountain (winter)

Great mellow ski tour option. There are more trees/vegetation than it looks like on the satellite imagery but you can ski down the entire way on green/blue slopes except the last 100 feet to the summit which I booted down because I am still learning to ski. Low avalanche and tree well hazards compared to many other places that have semi-open slopes. https://www.peakbagger.com/climber/ascent.aspx?aid=2735718

Could you share how you managed to park at the gate without being towed, ticketed, or spotted while trespassing? For more context, see this discussion https://www.nwhikers.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8039123. The property is now privately owned, and the new owners are strictly enforcing trespassing rules.

Note: The Mountaineers should update the Hex Mountain route details to include this information to avoid any issues.

I parked at a pullout on the road that was marked as a legal spot. If you want to do this trip it is possible to completely avoid any private property (as far as I know) by going up fs road 4305. There is a recent trip report on WTA.org for this route, and you can legally park along the road if there isn't too much snow. However, that road was snowed in when I was there and the legal parking I found is not nearby.
