Have route linked below Started from Water Taxi Pier and went up California to Charleston Street Went to the entrance of Schmitz Preserve Park on 53rd Ave SW and then down to the ravine. Through the park down to Alki Trail and then back to Water Taxi Pier It is right at 7 miles with 350 feet +/- . Good route - but entrance to Schmitz Preserve is steep and with recent rains, the trail was slippery and muddy. With good traction and taking your time, this way is navigable. But poles would have been useful and may want to come in from a different direction (like SW Hinds or Stevens Street) until the area dries out a bit.
You could do several variations of this route and is a nice leg stretcher in West Seattle.
