French Cabin Mountain/West Peak

10/3/15. This was a fall trip run as a loop trip. See topo map: http://www.mappingsupport.com/p/gmap4.php?ll=47.296534,-121.167570&z=14&t=t4. We followed trail 1315 up along Silver Creek, crossing over just above 4600' to the ridge of West French Cabin and from there up to the summit. After descending we followed the trail east and then north to the minor summit of South Peak. Returning to the trail we headed south on #1308 Domerie Peak Trail. This trail had a lot of ups and downs, including cresting Mt Thomas. We descended on the trail normally used for approach to Mt Baldy. The net result according to my GPS was 15 miles and 5,500 ft gain, taking 11 hours. This is a good trip, especially with the fall color, but long and a lot and surprising amount of gain.
