Time: Launch 9:00am - Land 2:30pm
Distance: 13.7nm

Sunny with a bit of fog in the morning, light breeze, waves < 6"

This trip went pretty much according to plan, with favorable currents for most of the day. The fog in the morning was just light enough to be able to see Fox Island for the crossing from Day Island. We stopped at Gibson Point for a coffee/bio break and at Nearns Point (Sand Spit park) for lunch. Entertainment at lunch was provided by a family performing a New Year's polar bear swim - looked cold! The return along the north side of Fox was quick.

Great views of the Olympics in the morning and Mt. Rainier in the afternoon. A great group of paddlers and a beautiful day made a great start to the new year.
