Trip Report

Fox Island Circumnavigation

Friday, May 2, 2014
Launched from Titlow Beach with Andy Hix, Janet Beagley and Leonard Ingalls at 9am. Paddled south along the shore of Day Island to the north end of Chambers Bay Golf Course in 1' confused clapotis. Stayed along shore to avoid adverse current at the start of the ebb tide.
Took first short break at beach before crossing to the south tip of Fox Island. Had to use a ferry angle of about 20-30 degrees south in order to hit our target. Took a second break on beach below high bank about 1/3 of the way along the west side of the island.
At about 1pm we reached the Fox Island Bridge boat ramp and stopped for lunch. After lunch we headed straight across to Pt. Fosdick and then crossed back to Titlow, arriving at 3:30pm.
The weather was mostly sunny, with a light breeze from the southwest all day. A great trip.
