  • Eld Inlet
  • Sea Kayaking

A group of four paddlers left the Boston Harber Boat Ramp at about 10:45 AM. Light SW wind, light wind waves. We crossed to Cooper point and continued to the west shore of Eld Inlet near Sanderson Harbor. The group continued south on the flood to Frye Cove County Park for lunch. There was a small beach near the trail we could land on. After lunch we launched at 12:45PM and paddled around Flapjack Point to Young Cove. We scouted a private boat launch in the cove, and found it to be a good resource for future use. From there we crossed to the eastern shore of the inlet, landing just north of Snyder Cove. Proceeding north, we noticed very large numbers of Jellyfish from Green Cove to north of Countryside beach. Amazing. Finally we proceeded back to Cooper Point on the ebb and crossed back to Boston Harbor, arriving at about 4:15PM. The total distance of the trip was 12 nm, with nine miles of shoreline along the inlet. We had no problems or incidents, and everyone enjoyed a beautiful fall day.
