Duckabush River

October 17, 2015: What a great group including trip co-leader Carly Carla Jonientz and group members Josh Newkirk, Rene Toolson, Richard DuBois, Rosemary Tucker, Stacey Isaacs and Tomi Dominguez! We left Olympia early to beat the rain and stopped at the Hoodsport Coffee Company around 7:15 on our way to the trailhead. Then it was up and down and up and down a trail transformed by new growth and trees blown down and partly cleared by a busy Conservation Corps crew this summer. The group worked as a team to figure out routing, pace, breaks and how to get over, under and around those trees. The rain never came during this beautiful 10.6 mile hiking adventure. We stopped again at the Hoodsport Coffee Company for ice cream before heading home.
