No hazards. The low temperatures preceding the arrival of the snow, prevented the snow from melting and boding to the trail, so it clogged our micro-spikes and made for some interesting walking.
Our party of 8 departed the trail head at 8 AM. We were able to circumnavigate the trail, beginning at the trailhead through Tiger Mtn's 3-2-1. Trail is in good condition, though there was some interesting things going on with the snow. The ground was clearly frozen so the arrival of the snow did not melt or mod to the trail. Instead, it "came off" the trail, such that you could see the dirt below the snow when you removed your foot. All that snow kept clogging our micro-spikes and became an issue on the descent.
After descending from Tiger 3, the snow depth on the trail to Tiger 2 and 1 bordered on snow-shoeing depth and conditions, but we made it through okay. I believe the max depth of snow that we ran across was about 12", but that was on the leeward part of the trail and was clearly accumulated by the wind.
We put our micro-spikes on about a mile or so into the trail. Personal preference on how soon to put them on, but you will need them. We saw a few folks that were managing the trail and snow in "street shoes", but this Hike Leader would not recommend that method.
No other issues to report. We returned to the trailhead by 2:05 PM. Our average speed was a 32m30s mile with 5 or less min breaks every hour and a 20 min stop at the hikers hut near the Tiger 1 summit.
