Day Hike - Wallace Falls

This is a challenging hike for beginners. It starts out with a slight elevation gain, but shifts into high gear between the middle and upper falls. One should be in fairly god physical shape for the climb to the top.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Lots of roots and steps to mange, both up and down the trail.

Lots of parking at the foot of the trail in Wallace State park. Rainy day, but mild temp (40s). Elevation gain was modest until reaching the middle falls, then it shifted to challenging up to the top. Round trip time on this was about 4.5 hours (but I was the slowest). The hike could probably be accomplished easiiy in 3.0 to 3.5 hours.
