Trip Report

Day Hike - Poo Poo Point via High School Trail

Clear skies for a beautful view at Poo Poo Point.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • The trail is in pretty good shape. The trail drains well, so while there was some mud, there weren't puddles on the trail. There were two downed trees that were easily passed. As we left the trail we saw a work party with chain saws heading up, so the way is probably clear now. There was very little snow at the top. However the  launch pad is an ice sheet and should be avoided.

School is on break, so lots of parking at the high school. No parasailers today. There was a group installing a bench in memory of a local DJ. The sky was clear and so the view was excellent. Despite a little snow and ice on the launch pad, it wasn't too cold. So we stayed awhile  for lunch.

A view of Lake Sammamish and surrounding area.

A view of Mt Baker with trees in the foreground.
