The trail has many fallen tree obstructions which can be overcome. The switchback portion of the trail is heavily rooted and rocky.
The trail is snow free.
Immediately after turning off the Mountain Loop Highway the potholes on the dirt road begin. The road is not suitable for low clearance vehicles.
There were more small flying insects than normal.
Our Group began the hike at ~9:00AM and were back at the trailhead ~12:30PM.
Be aware of the proper trail as there are a few side trails that lead off-route.
