Day Hike - Newberry Hill Heritage Park

Great weather for a fall walk in the woods

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

  • Route was in great condition.  Small limbs down on Rhodie Hill section but was moved off trail. 

    One participant recommended an additional section for future trips which would include wetlands with likely beaver activity and salmon.    

 Route was 6 miles RT with minimal gain.  Group opted to pass on Guillemot Cove. 

Leader and Asst. Leader scouted Guillemot Cove.  Fall color underway with kingfishers, juncos, and kinglets.  Also signs of sapsucker activity.   Scout troops have done significant work on the trail near the beach with a new boardwalk in place to allow winter crossings and wayfinding signage also installed.
