Driving up to trailhead was clear and straightforward. No obstacles. The route begins with a fair grade up, and goes about 3,200 ft of vertical gain in 4 miles. The trail was mostly clear of snow until we reached elevations above 2,500 ft. Poles and microspikes are helpful, and would be recommended but are not required. Conditions on this day were atypical for this time of year with sunny views of the valley including Mount Rainier and the Olympic Range. It was a really beautiful day, and the views were better than from Mount Si's peak. The descent back to the TH is an additional 4 miles and took about 2 hours at a leisurely pace. It is a cruiser conditioner with a good pace for elevation gain.
Great group and stoke! We made great time to the top and back down. Most conditions mentioned above. We met some friendly birds at the top!
