Trip Report

Day Hike - Mount Washington (Snoqualmie)

Another beautiful chilly autumn day enjoying sunshine in the hills!

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • The trail is in good shape, but could use some branch trimming. A couple of trees are down and can be easily stepped across.

A cold wind was blowing at the parking lot in the morning, but magically disappeared when we entered the trees along the trail. The air was still cold, but lack of wind and warm sunshine just below the summit made a nice lunch spot. Microspikes were needed on the upper trail, it would've been pretty sketchy along some stretches without them. Very few other hikers along the way, a few more coming up as we headed down. Six hours round trip including a half hour enjoying the views up top, slightly under 8.5 miles and just about 3,200' gain. A nice day out!
