Day Hike - Mount Walker
A beautiful, partly sunny, uncrowded first hike of the year!

The trail is in good condition with only one easy-to-step-over down tree. Some storm debris in places, but nothing that caused a problem.
I cancelled the hike officially because it was only one participant and myself. It turned out to be a beautiful winter day with a mix of sun, fog, and clouds, so we decided to hike anyway. A great decision! We arrived at 10 a.m. with plenty of parking along the road. A bit of snow appeared on leaves about a hundred feet or so below the summit, and there was roughly an inch of snow on top and at the south summit. Just a slight breeze on top, no wind at all on the trail. A few more hikers were headed up as we descended, but it was not crowded and everyone was wishing each other a happy new year! A gorgeous day!
