Day Hike - Mount Si Main Trail

This was a great hike in the snow.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • The route just about all the way was on snow.  The first several hundred feet were a mix of snow and dry trail.  After that there was snow and ice layered on the trail and moving on up it turned to all snow.

We had a great day hiking on the snow.  Having Micro Spikes definitely made sense for this day.  We turned off the trail where the Talus Loop Trail starts and completed that and back on to the main trail.  We were in snow throughout and just so much fun being on snow all the way to breaking out of the trees at the top.  All the places where you normally have to step carefully over or around some rocks were completely covered with snow.  It was clear sky and sunshine at the top with lots of gray jays vying for attention.
