The unpaved mile to the trailhead is in great shape with new gravel and no pot-holes. Just a few easy to cross snow patches along the trail, and a few down trees to get over or around, but nothing bad. Some little wildflowers and bear grass blooming on the lower stretch, the upper is yet to bloom. No bugs. Entire loop is 99% snow free.
Perfect weather with partial sun, cool comfortable temps, and only a couple of raindrops the whole day. We did the lollipop loop clockwise. The ridge is snow free except for a couple of spots easy to pass. Some short washout spots on the loop above Horse Camp, and three or four trees need to be cut out on the loop traverse.
