The trial from Barlow Pass to the town site is in passable condition. A few of the road sections have been washed out over the years. Depending on the river level, the crossing can be where two logs rest on each other (may be slippery when wet) or farther up the old Gothic Basin trail on the left where a cable is anchored to a tree.
Two vehicles were in the upper parking lot when we arrived. Upon return, a total of nine additional vehicles parked at Barlow Pass. Our Group did not meet any other people on the hike in but did meet a few people on our way out. Occasional light light during our hike out with temperatures between 40-45F.
The pit toilet at Barlow Pass is still unlocked. The pit toilet near the town site is locked.
Total hike time was a little over 5 hours inclusive of exploring the town site.
