Day Hike - Mima Falls

Annual New Year’s Day hike

  • The trail is in good shape, with a few muddy spots and several larger trees that have come down across the trail.  We were able to easily navigate these obstacles.

    this is a very busy, multi-use trail but we observed minimal garbage (we picked up what we could).

New Year’s Day was a “fee free” day, so we expected the trail to be busy and the parking lot had many vehicles when we arrived at 9am.  It’s a very large lot, and no concerns about finding a parking spot. Mother pit toilet was clean and stocked.

we took the loop counter clockwise, taking a break at the falls to take advantage of the picnic table.  We met a number or runners, mountain bikers, and at the falls was a large group just leaving as we arrived.
