Day Hike - Lime Kiln Trail
Nice, easy walk in the forest with some interesting historical artifacts and a river access point near the end. Good signage keeps you on the hiker's trail.

The trail is in reasonably good condition with a smooth tread and recent brushing and drainage work. There is one log to step over near the Lime Kiln, and a few muddy sections between the kiln and the trail end, but nothing to slow down an average hiker.
Thank you to the WTA and Snohomish Parks crew doing the bridge construction work along the first portion of the trail. Your efforts are appreciated!
Views are limited on this heavily wooded trail, and include a few peak-a-boo views of the South Fork of the Stillaguamish River. But the best view of the river comes near the end of the trail where there is easy river access.
I had the trail all to myself, until near the end of the hike when I passed 6 hikers. Good to see others out enjoying the nice trail.
GPS recorded 7.1 miles, 1000 feet elevation gain, and 2.5 hours while moving at a brisk pace.
