Day Hike - Ira Spring - Mt Definace
Beautiful day, great weather. We decided to try going up the old Mason Lake trail. Not recommended for anyone that does not like scrambling or route finding or taking more time. I found it to be a nice adventure, but definitely not worth coming down that route. The Summit views were awesome, from Baker to Adams. Good views of the Snoqualmie area peaks also, I'm still confused why "Putrid Pete" is in the trip description since this is a hike listing. "Ira Spring Trailhead with various destinations" would be a better listing. Putrid Pete's Peak is a scramble peak requiring route finding and should not be lumped with hke listings.

The main Ira Spring trail was in great condition. The last 1/4 mile to the Defiance summit is a steep path and not your typical trail.
