Day Hike - Grand Park (Mount Rainier)

Seven of us hiked to Grand Park (Mt Rainier) via Lake Eleanor.  The weather was overcast with a little breeze.  The trail up to the lake was soggy in places.  When we got to the lake, there was a crew cutting down dead trees near the campground, with the intent of opening the campgrounds again.  We passed the avalanche lilys on the way to Grand Park, but they were already dying off.  Once we got to the meadows at Grand Park, we saw several varieties of flowers.  We stopped for lunch and then returned back to the trailhead.  We figured 8.5 miles round trip with 1300 ft elevation gain.  The bugs were not a problem today.
