Day Hike - Frenchman Coulee Waterfall

First time hike of area and had a blast. Very different from North Cascades! Enjoyed it.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Trails were well maintained.

Saturday  5.28.16

Exploratory hike. Went very well.  Parked on south side of Vantage Road as the north side needed high clearance vehicles due to ruts and rocks.  TH starts east of the parking areas in the obvious gully.  Easy hike to waterfalls.  Blue bird day.  Wildflowers fading, low volume waterfall, lots of animal tracks, and picked up trash.  There were other trails to follow to the SW, if one wanted to extend the hike and explore the coulee.  Trails are for horses and ATVs.

Prior to hike stopped at Wild Horses Monument - trail to plateau was dirty.  After waterfall hike sport climbed at the Feathers, which by then, was crowed - Memorial Day.
