Day Hike - Cougar Mountain: Sky Country Trailhead

Our group of 8 hikers did a 6.5 mile loop from the Sky Country Trailhead with brief stops at Million Dollar View, an old mine shaft, Clay Pits and Coal Creek Falls in just under 3 hours. The trail was dry and there were very few blowdowns. We saw lots of pretty bleeding hearts, which seemed to be in peak bloom. We also noticed a few mosquitoes, especially at Million Dollar View, but they were not bothersome. It was a beautiful evening and we had a fun and friendly group. All in all a perfect start to the weekend.
