Day Hike - Cedar Park & Burke-Gilman Trail

A rainbow, a really big north to south rainbow. And a little rain for a most pleasant walk along the lake and a quiet neighborhood.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Stairs, sidewalks, B-G Trail and streets were in good condition.  Return portion requires careful attention to traffic with blind corners and narrow roadway. Similar attention to speeding cyclists is necessary on the B-G Trail.  We prefer to face oncoming vehicles and cycles.

Party of 8 damp walkers enjoyed early spring walk with trees and flowers yet in full bloom.  Low trail and street traffic made for good conversations.  Return calls for careful attention to turns and streets change names faster than pros shuck oysters.  Our steady pace and frequent but short stops brought us back in 1' 45".  The only relief station is at the start/finish.  A Cedar Park Elementary School custodian identified bas relief busts of Tesla and spouse on our return (not in the formal stairwalk route) through the school yard.
