Day Hike - Cedar Butte (Olallie State Park)

Berries! Also, a lovely, easy trail through beautiful woods.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

  • Trail was easy to follow, with clear path and good signage. Good footing, and nice shade - it will probably stay cool on a hot day.

We had a nice, easy hike to the top of Cedar Butte. We took the short leg of the loop on the way up,  had lunch at the top, then descended on the longer leg of the loop, stopping to admire the vine maples draped in lichen. Nice views of Si, Teneriffe, Mailbox and the Middle Fork from the summit.

The salmonberries are ripening, and there are lots of huckleberries, too (these will need a little more time). It's a beautiful stretch of forest, and was very quiet on this Wednesday morning.
