Day Hike - Big Creek Loop

The last mile to the trailhead is not paved. Washboardy the first half mile, watch for holes the second half.

Changed hike from Mt. Rose to the nearby Big Creek Loop due to Search and Rescue operation on Rose. Went counter-clockwise and turned around several yards past the upper Mt. Elinor junction. Nice day with cool temps, rich green growth, and only a handful of other hikers seen on the way back. Our initial disappointment transformed into a very enjoyable and satisfying day out!  10.5 miles rt/3020' gain.
