This season at Echo Ridge it snowed early then stayed cold. There was plenty of snow for our visit, including a few inches of new the day before. But the snowpack there is rarely deep and generally doesn't last late into the season making December-January good months to visit.
Saturday we classic-skied about 20 km of freshly groomed trails with a stop for lunch at the warming yurt. Sunday we skied about 17 km, most of us on skate skis in the morning, then all of us on classic skis in the afternoon to visit some of the trails we missed on Saturday. Both days had blue skies, little wind, sweeping views, and great snow. Conditions couldn't have been better.
