An easy, flat 6 mile round trip hike on an old, converted rail bed. Still lots of wildflowers, even though a little late in season for this desert steppe hike. Weather good, even hot(probably about 80 degrees). Trail in excellent condition, no obstructions. Lots of interesting cliff/rock formations, and Cowiche Creek is crossed on sturdy bridges 9 times; you are always near the Creek. Nice breezes always. There are several side trips which we did not take: several up to the canyon rim, one up to a winery which offers wine tasting. Well marked trails. No parking pass needed.
