CHS 2 Hike - Snoquera Palisades

Very enjoyable hike in the woods on a cloudy day.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

  • The trail is in mostly great shape. There are minor blow downs. The hand railing at the top of the stairs has been fixed. The bridge before the second viewpoint has some loose planks. The first water crossing was high, but still safe to cross.

    Hikers crossing stream

Very nice spring hike. The waterfalls and stream are very pretty. Trillium were the only flowers blooming so far. We had the trail to ourselves as the WTA website still lists this trail as closed. The Forest Service is advising caution in burn areas, but we went to the second viewpoint and did not enter the burn area. It was a misty day and so our views were limited, but we still enjoyed ourselves.
