CHS 1 Hike - Mount Defiance

Beautiful Hike to Mt. Defiance only. Flowers in full bloom in meadow below peak. Busiest parking lot we've ever seen at Ira Spring lot.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

  • There are 3 intersections to be aware of.  The first to Bandera at 2 miles and 2 other near Mason Lake to find Defiance trail.  It can be a bit confusing around the lake.  Bring a map as always!

As stated previously, busiest parking lot I've seen for Ira Spring trail.  Flowers were spectacular--lupines, paintbrush, bear grass, asters, phlox, tiger lilies, columbines...
